The golf course of Amelkis

A fairly easy golf course with well-maintained but wide fairways.

No major difficulties to access greens that do not have significant slopes.

Mandatory caddy, his name is Abdul and he drags one of his legs a lot.

It’s not an easy job for him. He is a real golfer, he says he is ranked 26. He has an eye and analyses my missed shots well. On the other hand, he is wrong 4 times by advising me bad clubs. I trust him the first 3 because he knows the course, but the 4th time, I follow my instinct and I’m right. This Abdul is very nice, I give him a little tip. I would have liked to give him more but my budget is a little limited.

Noria Golf

I didn’t like this golf too much. The first 9 holes are not very interesting in fairways.

Easy golf except for numerous bunkers and narrow greens. Second part much more interesting and hilly.

Part shared with Fouad, a Moroccan from Casablanca who tells me that he benefits from a very interesting contribution valid on 9 different golf courses.

Atlas Golf

Very beautiful 9 holes, unfortunately not extendible because there are constructions all around.

Fast greens with slopes, hole 9 in very difficult peninsula.

This golf course is beautifully landscaped. Terrace of the clubhouse very pleasant and rather good catering at a decent price.

Al Maaden

Game shared with a young Swiss and 2 Welsh ex-rugby players very nice but not very good, although handicap 19 like me.

Very wide fairways, no major difficulties except around the water obstacle.

A clubhouse and villas all around the golf particularly aesthetic.

Magnificent terrace around a water feature.

The course will not leave me with a lasting memory. Our Swiss friend is smiling and friendly but a real caricature of the Swiss, probably the slowest player I have had the opportunity to know.

Samanah Golf by Nicklaus

Very expensive, far from the city. I am surprised by the price with the charming young lady of the reception. She answers me with great conviction that I will understand the price difference after playing, that it is a course designed by Nicklaus design and that it makes all the difference, and that the quality of the course has nothing to do with the other golf courses in the city. Part shared with a very nice young Irish couple with whom I will talk a lot and a very nice Welshman as well but with incomprehensible English for me.

The game is really nice but I remain hungry for the course, although my play partners share the enthusiasm of the young woman of the reception regarding the course. I don’t find anything exceptional, the fairways are wide and without difficulties (no vegetation, no water at stake (very little), only the greens show a little more interest than in the other golf courses.

Although slower than those of Noria, they have slopes a little more difficult to read. But my putting is there that day. Conclusion : interesting golf without more, very beautiful club house but greenfee too expensive.
